Gentlemen,
Alumni are the foundation and base of any organization. There is no way to express the value of the resources alumni can offer, from financial gifts to networking and career recommendations.
When I meet with alumni, the stories are endless and never get old. I often hear about things they loved during their time as an active, but never do I hear a regret. SAE as an undergrad is an era that only a select few are able to experience during their time in college, a time that many have expressed not imagining their life without. The life long friendships and memories created that remain to this day is the confirmation of these statements.
As the chapter continues to connect and communicate with our alumni, we ask for your help as well. As an alumnus of your generation, you are able to better relate to others who were active around the same time. Encouragement to attend alumni events and communication amongst each other can mean the difference between three alumni at an event and two hundred. A simple message through email, Facebook or LinkedIn is all it takes to rekindle the line of communication that may have been lost through a new career and family immediately after college.
I would like to take a minute to introduce you to the brand new SAE Loyalty Fund. This fund is used for the development of the chapter, and the brothers within it. The fund was established for alumni, actives, parents and friends to contribute to the house with confidence the integrity of their gift is being used for only the most productive purposes. The Loyalty Fund pays printing and postage of the Gamma Phone, events hosted for alumni and parents, philanthropy costs, ritual gear, and many other things. For more information, you can go to the Loyalty Fund page on the bar to the left.
As an alumnus, there are several ways you can support your chapter. Joining our groups on social networking sites, attending alumni events, make use of the alumni email directory, and making a pledge to the newly established SAE Loyalty Fund are only a few ways. Michigan Gamma continues to be your chapter, but it is only with your support that we may continue to be thee chapter on campus.
Contact me for information on the chapter, nationals, or other alumni. If you haven’t been receiving emails or mailings from us, update your contact information.
I hope to see you soon at one of our upcoming events.
Phi Alpha,
Brett Polen
